We are pleased to share some of our efforts to help SSS become carbon neutral.
SSS recently changed their energy supplier and are now purchasing environmentally friendly energy from Ecotricity – a vendor of carbon neutral electricity. Ecotricity sources their energy from carbon neutral wind, hydro, and solar producers and the offset their business-related CO2 emissions that can’t be avoided by purchasing verified New Zealand Native Bush Carbon Credits.
In addition to this we are also no longer supplying plastic water bottles at work, we actively look for ways we can recycle, and we will be updating our travel policy to include the requirement to purchase carbon credits when booking flights. We also have more staff who work from home more frequently and reducing their travel requirements.
As an organisation it is important for us to look for ways we can reduce our carbon footprint and do our bit to help make our planet a better place.
