Sophos have introduced a new tool – called Intercept X – to fight zeroday threats and in particular combat ransomware.
One of the clever features of Intercept X is that it keeps a shadow copy of any files being encrypted on a workstation, and if it determines the process doing the encrypting is bad, it kills that process and restores the encrypted files.
Key features that Sophos Intercept X provides are:
- Cryptoguard – Ransomware blocking and encrypted file restore
- Exploit prevention – behavioural detection to block all known hacking exploits
- Threat Analysis Centre – advanced graphics and reporting on security incidents for exploit mitigation
This new analytics tool from Sophos can work alongside other AV products you have installed on your endpoints, and is managed from the Sophos Central platform.
