Meet Georgia, our Project Manager

Meet Georgia Elliott.  Georgia is a key member of our
staff working closely with our internal teams, as well as with our customers to help make sure that our projects and associated deliverables stay on track!

Georgia, when did you join SSS?

I joined SSS in March 2016.

What are some of the things you do in your role?

My role mainly consists of  managing the larger projects for SSS internally, so that our customers get the best experience possible when implementing sophisticated and complex security products and solutions from SSS. This entails assisting with proposals and statements of works, managing the project teams day to day, reporting to our internal and external stakeholders and making sure that communication lines are always open.

It's important to us that we work well with our customers and so, as well as being PRINCE2 certified, I have also gained experience in the Agile methodology.

I'm also involved with some service delivery aspects around the support contracts and services that we offer at SSS.

What did you do before joining SSS?

Immediately before joining SSS, I worked for Ministry of Education (MoE) for four years in the IT Group. Over that time I worked my way up from a support officer to a programme coordinator, working on extensive IT infrastructure projects. The most significant being the upgrade of all Ministry computers to Windows 7 and the head office building move. At MoE I gained a vast amount of project experience working within a PMO, in a structured environment, whilst getting a good understanding of government processes and procedures.

Prior to that I was in the UK where I was born and bred. After achieving a BA Hons in Drama at university,  I landed a great job, working for a procurement company in their central billing department. This was a great experience in the private sector and a large organisation, to start my professional career.

What do you like about working for SSS?

SSS really values its staff and the culture that it can provide us.

Whilst we may still be a reasonably small organisation compared to other big IT players, we have a great team of people who work very well together. This speaks volumes when working with our customers on the various IT Security engagements.

There is a lot of focus on team building activities and events which builds internal team relationships and long term friendships.

I also like the variety of work which SSS provides across the different security products, solutions and services we offer. If we have the capacity to do so we are also encouraged to get involved with other areas of the business for our own professional development. Never a dull moment here that's for sure!!
